Terms of use

Community, with care.

These terms explain the rules for using stillUp, a community for adults in the United States.

About stillUp

stillUp is operated from Georgia, United States. It is a peer community for adults who want company and conversation through menopause-related sleepless nights. It is not medical care, mental-health treatment, a crisis service, or emergency response. Messages from members and automated support resources are not professional medical advice, clinical assessment, or evidence that someone is monitoring your conversation.

If there is an immediate emergency, contact emergency services. Do not rely on stillUp for emergency help.

Eligibility and accounts

stillUp is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old and in the United States. When you accept these terms, you confirm that you meet those requirements and that the information you provide is accurate. Keep your sign-in credentials private and tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

You may choose a display name. Do not impersonate another person, deceptively represent who you are, or try to access another member's account or information without authorization.

Price

stillUp is currently free to download and free to use. There is no subscription or in-app purchase.

If we introduce paid membership in the future, we will tell members in the app before it takes effect, show the price and any free trial before purchase, and update these terms. Purchases would be handled by Apple or Google under their terms, and you would never be charged without first agreeing to a purchase.

Community expectations

Use stillUp with care for the people sharing the space. You must not use the service to:

  • harass, threaten, demean, or target another person;
  • impersonate, deceive, scam, or exploit someone;
  • share someone else's private or personal information without permission;
  • post unlawful, infringing, or sexually exploitative content;
  • interfere with the service, evade blocks or restrictions, or attempt unauthorized access.

You can block another member and report a concern. A report can include the reason and the message content you choose to submit. Be thoughtful about what you share: other members can retain, copy, screenshot, or share content they receive.

Your content

You remain responsible for the messages, profile information, photos, and other content you provide. You should share only content you have the right to share.

You grant stillUp a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, display, deliver, and process your content only as needed to operate the service, provide it to the people and rooms you choose, investigate reports, moderate rooms, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to stillUp and ends when the content is deleted, except for the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.

Reports and moderation

stillUp may review reports, enforce its rules, remove public room messages, limit features, or suspend or disable an account when it reasonably believes this is needed to protect members or the service. Administrators can review and moderate public room content. Their tools do not provide general browsing access to private direct-message conversations; they can review content you explicitly include in a report.

Moderation is not continuous, and stillUp cannot promise to review every message or report by a particular time. If you believe a restriction was made in error, you may contact admin@stillupapp.com to ask for review. We review reported concerns and requests to reconsider restrictions. Do not rely on this process for emergency help.

Messages and privacy

Direct messages and room messages are encrypted while sent and stored, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. The stillUp backend can read message content. Direct messages are restricted to their participants in the app; public room content can be viewed and moderated as described in the Privacy Policy. Review the Privacy Policy before using the service.

stillUp does not promise end-to-end encryption, encrypted history recovery, or recovery of messages after a device or account change. The service's features, including message history and rooms, may change as stillUp develops.

Leaving stillUp

You can stop using stillUp at any time and initiate account deletion within the app. The Privacy Policy explains deletion, verification, and retention. Account deletion removes your messages, including from conversations with other members; their own messages may remain in a read-only conversation. Account suspension or disabling is not deletion. We cannot erase copies that other people have already saved outside the service.

Availability and changes

stillUp may update, pause, or discontinue features while it develops the service, including to address safety, security, or operational needs. We will try to communicate material changes when practical, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Service limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available. We cannot promise that it will always be available, secure, error-free, suitable for every purpose, or that every member will follow these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

These terms do not require arbitration, waive your right to bring a claim, or limit rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Contact and future changes

Questions about these terms may be sent to admin@stillupapp.com. We will notify members of material changes through the app or account email before they take effect and request renewed acceptance when appropriate.
